If you need advice or help with a variation of your planning approval, our experts are here to help. The first step is to conduct a planning appraisal, which involves our planning consultants researching your project to check the relevant planning policies. We will also check the planning history and look for any constraints that are relevant to your project.

It takes about an hour to prepare the research at which point we can then advise you whether what you want to do may be feasible or not. Assuming it is, we let you know the likelihood of success and provide a quote for the work required.

You can submit one application to request a variation without paying an additional fee to your planning authority. The application must be made within 12 months of the approval date, it must be for the same development and must not change the overall character of the development.

Unfortunately, even though it may be a very minor change to the application the planning authority will still take 8 weeks to process the application and reach a decision.
